Everything
you've built.

Safely pass down

to the ones you love.

Pass Down lets you store your passwords, documents, and digital assets in a secure vault and ensures they reach the right people when it matters most.

No guessing   |   No losing   |   No missing what's rightfully yours.

The Problem
₹ 1.84 Lakh
Crore

lies unclaimed across India's banks, insurance, and financial institutions. That number grows every year.

What was meant to
support them…
becomes a burden.

India has a silent
wealth problem.

When someone passes away, their financial life is often left in a state their family cannot navigate alone.

Scattered across apps, emails, and institutions

No single place holds the full picture. Every institution is a separate search.

Locked behind passwords no one else knows

Accounts become permanently inaccessible. The assets still exist. Families just can't reach them.

Partially disclosed or never disclosed at all

Families are unaware of what even exists. You can't claim what you don't know about.

What Makes Pass Down Different

Designed for
real-world complexity.

Most people today either tell their family partially, rely on notes or Excel sheets, or don't plan at all. Pass Down replaces all of that with structure, clarity, and a system that actually works.

Clarity

Everything in one place

Accounts, documents, passwords, and instructions. Organised and ready, not scattered across memory and email. Your family sees the full picture for the first time.

Preparation

The hardest part is starting. Pass Down makes it easy.

Most people intend to do this and never get to it. Pass Down is designed to be set up in under 15 minutes, with no legal complexity and no prior planning required. The right time is always before you need it.

Control

Share everything, or only what matters right now

You decide what goes into your vault, who your nominee is, and what gets shared and when. Share specific documents or accounts selectively while keeping others private. Update or revoke access anytime. Nothing moves without your explicit intent.

Guidance

A step-by-step process, not a list and a goodbye

When the time comes, your family doesn't receive a folder and get left to figure it out. Pass Down walks your nominee through a structured, human-assisted process: verifying identity, confirming the transfer, and ensuring every step is done correctly. Nobody carries this alone.

How It Works

Simple to set up.
Designed to work when it matters most.

Four steps. Less than 15 minutes to set up. A system that works quietly in the background and steps forward when your family needs it.

01

Store Your Credentials

Store passwords, account details, documents, and access credentials in one encrypted vault. Everything your family would need, in one place.

02

Assign Your Nominee

Choose someone you trust to receive access when the time comes. They are notified, verified, and guided through the process.

03

Stay in Control

Update or remove anything, anytime. Nothing is shared without your explicit intent, before or after.

04

When It Matters

Pass Down initiates a careful, structured process to notify and guide your nominee. Step by step, with human support at every stage.

Built With Privacy at Its Core

Your data is sensitive.
We treat it that way.

This is not a notes app. The information you store here is among the most sensitive you have. Every layer of Pass Down is built around that reality.

Encrypted Storage

Your vault is protected with the same encryption standards used by banks and financial institutions. Everything is encrypted before it leaves your device.

Strict Identity Verification

Nominees are verified before they are given any access and re-verified at the time of transfer. No assumptions. No shortcuts.

Multi-Step Checks Before Any Transfer

Nothing moves until every verification step is complete: death confirmation, nominee identity, and a human-assisted handover process.

No Single Point of Exposure

Your vault is split across multiple independent holders. No single party, including us, ever holds your complete key. Without all fragments coming together, the vault cannot be opened by anyone.

"Your vault is yours. It opens only when you intend it to, and only for who you choose."

Pass Down is built in accordance with DPDP and GDPR guidelines.

Why This Matters Now

The gap isn't small
anymore.

Three shifts have made this urgent. Not someday urgent, but right now urgent.

01 ·
More wealth is
digital than ever before

Yet most of it is invisible to the people who should inherit it. Digital assets don't come with paper trails. They disappear silently.

02 ·
Families are more
distributed

Across cities, countries, and time zones with no shared view of what exists. The person who knew everything is the one who is gone.

03 ·
Planning gets deferred
until it's too late

Despite the best intentions, this is always the task for next month. For some families, that moment never comes. Pass Down makes it easy to do it today.

Early Access

Set this up
before it's urgent.

Most people think about this too late. Pass Down is being built so you don't have to wait for the right moment, because for some families, that moment never comes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Your questions,
answered.

Pass Down is a digital inheritance vault. You store your bank account details, insurance policies, investment information, passwords, and other important information in a zero-knowledge encrypted vault. While you are alive, only you can see it. When you pass away, your primary nominee receives access to your investment and savings information, and everything else you left for them, securely shared with your family only after 4 stages of death verification are successfully completed.

Pass Down is not a will and is not a legal document. It does not legally transfer asset ownership, process financial transactions, or provide legal advice. It is the information and access layer that sits between your scattered digital life and your family's ability to claim the assets.

You can add as little or as much as you want. Each entry has a label, an account number or username field, an optional password field, and a notes field. You can store bank account details, insurance policy information, investment and demat account details, locker and property information, passwords and login credentials, and personal notes. You decide what goes in and who should have access to it.

Your vault is protected using zero-knowledge architecture and AES-256 encryption. Your data is encrypted on your device before it ever reaches our servers. Pass Down receives and stores only ciphertext and cannot read, access, or decrypt your vault under any circumstances. This is not a policy choice, it is an architectural choice. All data is stored exclusively on India-based servers.

No. The encryption key that protects your vault is split into 4 separate fragments the moment your account is created. Pass Down holds only one of those fragments, and one fragment alone cannot open anything. Even if someone at Pass Down wanted to look inside your vault, it is technically impossible.

A primary nominee is the person who will receive access to your full vault after your death is verified, typically your spouse, adult child, or a trusted family member.

A backup nominee serves as a fallback: if your primary nominee is unreachable, unresponsive, or unable to participate in the verification process, your backup nominee steps in to ensure the handover is not blocked.

A beneficiary is someone you assign to a specific asset within your vault for context and identification purposes. A nominee can also be a beneficiary. You can add up to 5 beneficiaries.

No. Your nominee cannot see your vault contents while you are alive. Everything you store remains completely private until your death is verified through the full SAFE Protocol verification process.

The SAFE Protocol (Secure Asset Forwarding Engine) is Pass Down's built-in safety and inheritance system. You set a daily or weekly check-in schedule at a time of your choosing. At that time, an alarm reminds you to check in and authenticate yourself through Face ID, Touch ID, or your device PIN. If you miss your check-in, the app sends a repeat alarm at your configured interval (30, 60, or 90 minutes). If you remain unresponsive for more than 24 hours, an automated welfare call is placed to you first. If not attended, an automated welfare call goes to your primary nominee to check if you are safe.

This is a welfare check, not the start of any inheritance process. The vault is only handed over after a multi-stage verification that includes human calls, death certificate submission, and independent nominee confirmation.

Beyond inheritance, the SAFE Protocol also serves as a genuine personal safety system. For anyone living alone, travelling solo, or with family far away, a daily check-in with escalation to a trusted person is independently valuable.

The app sends repeat alarms at your configured interval. Tapping the check-in button at any point fully resets the SAFE Protocol. No one is contacted.

Daily check-in example (7 AM, 30-minute repeat interval)
  • Day 1, 7:00 AM: Alarm fires. Missed.
  • Day 1, 7:30 AM: Repeat alarm fires. Missed.
  • Day 2, 7:00 AM: Scheduled alarm fires again. Missed.
  • Day 2, 7:30 AM: Repeat alarm fires. Missed.
  • After 24 hours of total inactivity: Automated welfare call placed to you first. If not attended, a welfare call is placed to your primary nominee.
Weekly check-in example (Wednesday 7 AM, 30-minute repeat interval)
  • Wednesday, 7:00 AM: Alarm fires. Missed.
  • Wednesday, 7:30 AM: Repeat alarm fires. Missed.
  • Thursday, 7:00 AM: After 24 hours of total inactivity, automated welfare call placed to you first. If not attended, a welfare call is placed to your primary nominee.

Any successful check-in at any point fully resets the SAFE Protocol.

Go to Settings, then Account, then Delete Account. Once you initiate deletion, a 30-day window begins. You can return at any time within those 30 days by simply logging back in. If you do not log in within 30 days, your account and all data are permanently and irreversibly deleted. Your nominee's access to anything you had shared with them is also removed immediately when deletion is initiated.
