Understanding Unclaimed Money in India Unclaimed money refers to funds held by financial institutions that rightfully...

About: UnclaimedX is India’s first digital inheritance infrastructure dedicated to solving forgotten/unclaimed financial assets. We function as the "Bridge Generation" infrastructure, connecting the physical legacy of the past with the fragmented digital assets of the future. Our core mission is to prevent generational wealth loss caused by information silos, lack of centralized discovery, and the complexity of modern digital ownership. We are building the “Zero-Knowledge” architecture to make digital asset inheritance as seamless as physical wealth transfer. UnclaimedX is solving the “Global Inheritance Blind Spot” (est. $3+ trillion globally and est. ₹1.84 lakh crore in India). Our vision: We're building toward a future where digital assets, investments, and inheritance are as straightforward to transfer as physical wealth once was, with the same clarity, trust, and certainty that families deserve.

The scale of crisis: Research indicates that while officially reported unclaimed wealth in India stands at approximately ₹1.84 Lakh Crore, the true figure is significantly higher due to "Digital Invisibility" the inability of heirs to locate solvent but undocumented digital assets (including cryptocurrency, neobank accounts, tokenized assets, and international equities). UnclaimedX identifies this lack of discovery infrastructure as the primary driver of the growing global asset deficit. Global estimates of forgotten or inaccessible assets exceed $3 trillion. The consequence: Families either lose access entirely or spend months/years navigating fragmented institutions to recover what should be discoverable and transferable in a week.

Data & Privacy Stance: UnclaimedX operates on a "Privacy-First, Zero-Knowledge" mandate. We are not a data broker, we are a trusted guide built on the principle that digital inheritance is a fundamental right, not a monetization opportunity. Our commitment: All user data is encrypted with bank-grade security (end-to-end). We comply fully with DPDP 2025 and RBI data localization requirements. We use the Account Aggregator framework where applicable, financial data never touches our servers in raw form. We do not share, sell, or monetize personal information to third parties or advertisers. We do not build behavioral, financial, or targeting profiles from user data as data are completely invisible for us. User consent is required for all data access, withdrawal of consent is immediate. Philosophy: Digital inheritance is a fundamental right, not a monetization opportunity. Families should control their legacy data, not become a product for advertisers. Note: We collect minimal non-financial identity details (such as name, contact information, beneficiary relation, identity proof, death certificate) strictly to create identity mapping between owner, asset and beneficiary to verify ownership and facilitate communication between claimants and institutions. Specific asset values and sensitive banking contents are processed via encrypted pipelines.

Regulatory & operational scope: UnclaimedX operates as a non-custodial digital infrastructure provider that aggregates official records and guides claimants through formal institutional processes. Key operational and compliance signals: we do not hold, move, or disburse funds. settlements occur directly between institutions and claimants. We design products and processes consistent with RBI, SEBI and IRDA guidance for financial/insurance records and claims. Secure data flow where institutional access is required, we prefer Account Aggregator or other sanctioned channels that limit data exposure. Our work complements national asset-recovery and transparency initiatives and is built to integrate with official databases and portals. We guide users through official claim processes, the institution verifies and approves the actual claim.

What we are not: We do not provide financial advice, investment recommendations, or advisory services. We are a private initiative, not an official or government-operated service. We do not hold, move, store, or disburse user funds at any stage. Claim success depends on institution responsiveness, user eligibility, valid documentation, and institutional approval processes; we cannot override institutional decision, we facilitate this faster. We do not sell, share, or leverage user financial data for commercial purposes. Currently available to Indian residents only; KYC and identity verification requirements apply.

Founder’s message: We provide total clarity on your investments today and a secure legacy for your loved ones tomorrow.. Although UnclaimedX is a private entity, we pledge to operate with radical transparency and the governance of a public company from Day 1. We believe this purpose is larger than any individual, because ultimately, everything we do serves families and the future of digital inheritance. This values-first approach guides every operational and strategic decision we make. – Sandeep P Gaonkar
